Shyam Badan Shrestha
Born in 1948, Shyam Badan Shrestha used to produce
knotted items and saw dust dolls as her handicraft
business. Since 1995, she started venturing into
natural fiber and taught women living in buffer zone
of Chitwan forest in mat weaving from napier grass
locally known as gulgulla. Today these women
are capable of weaving different patterns of garden
accessories including table runners, table mat to
sofa pillows.
